This Image Got Sold For $30 On Getty Images | Stock Photography Revenue

The image which I never expected to get sold got sold in January for $30 that is approximately 2,000 Rs in Indian currency.

I know I have been telling you guys to do stock photography, however, you also need to know that it isn't like regular photography. You need to think as per a stock seller and not as a photographer or rather will you buy that image if you had to for a particular use may it be for Social media, your website or any digital use. With the example which I going to share with you today I remember the time when I was curious and wanted to know how much can I actually get paid and what are the possibilities that my images will sell on a very high amount. At that time I came across a video where a woman who has been doing stock photography for 2 years she sold her first expensive picture at $100 which was a shock to her not only in terms of the amount but the image which got sold for $100 that image was the image of her foot another example she shared was shee sold once an image of her teeth for nearly $125.

Shutterstock - Earn from $0.25 - $200 per image sold. Payment method (Paypal)

Getty Images/iStock - Earn 20% ($10-$500) royalty of every image sold. Payment method (Paypal)

Adobe Stock- Earn flat 33% ($5 -$300) of the amount paid by the customer for your image. Payment method (Paypal)

PicFair - Open your own online store for free. You can customize the amount you want to sell every image for. Payment method (Paypal)

Most Photos - Earn 50% - 60% of the amount every image is sold for. Payment method (Paypal)

When I say stock it cannot include any brands name or any identifiable property or object. in case you have an image that you feel will sell well on the stock websites, you will need to edit/remove the brand name, logo or any other property on the image which can be a sign for copyright issues. It is not that this is the 1st image which has been sold for this amount but the catch is I never thought this will sell at this rate.

Honestly, I took stock photography seriously for the first 6 months in those 6 months I captured only the sites/images which I felt can be a good seller. Even I use to think like a photographer, but when I realized that thinking as a photographer is not helping and I understood I need to start thinking like a buyer. That is when I started uploading anything that can be useful for a stock photo purchaser.

And when I started doing that my sales started to grow. Now coming to the point that which is this image which got sold unexpectedly? The below image listed for "Cheese masala Maggi" that I captured just for the sake of it and uploaded on all my websites got sold. I am not even kidding I am not a Maggi fan I just made it that evening and for presentation purpose added 2 forks and just shot it. I just thought of sharing this with you guys as I thought it might be helpful. It was a big surprise for me.
